Dr Susie Tomson

Susie has combined her passion and career creating innovative solutions to natural resource management having spent her career in coastal management and international sporting programmes supporting the strategic development of robust, credible environmental and sustainability management systems.

She has a PhD in integrated coastal management and an MSc in water and environmental management, academically and professionally Susie works at the interface of science and management, understanding impacts and identifying practical solutions.

She has worked as a coastal zone management consultant, marine park manager, harbour board member and sustainability advisor.  Susie has been involved in establishing and delivering sustainability programmes across sport in particular sailing namely, America’s Cup teams Land Rover BAR and TEAM ORIGIN, the London Olympic Games 2012, Ryder Cup 2014, World Sailing and prior to PCSG establishing the UK National Governing body for sailing RYA’s Green Blue environment programme. As sustainability manager for Sir Ben Ainslie Racing’s Americas Cup Campaign, she drove their award-winning sustainability programme, being the first sports team to achieve ISO20121 certification and winning Beyond Sport’s Sport for Environment Award. Susie was awarded Business Green’s Sustainability Leader of the Year in 2017. She is now Sustainability Director for the International Consultancy PCSG having brought her company Earth to Ocean that she established in 2009 into the Group in 2014.
