ABOUT
The World Sailing Trust is a global charity established to support sailing in all its forms. We work to promote participation and access, support young sailing athletes and safeguard our waters for future generations.
OUR JOURNEY
The World Sailing Trust was set up by World Sailing to catalyse change. World Sailing, as the global governing body for the sport, is uniquely positioned to influence and affect change across the global sailing community, and will work with the World Sailing Trust to generate impact around the world.
Using our collective influence, and working in partnership with individuals and organisations around the world, the World Sailing Trust has the opportunity to inspire greater participation across the globe and establish far-reaching partnerships to safeguard the future of sailing and our planet’s waters.
The World Sailing Trust has closely aligned its goals with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and World Sailing’s Sustainability Agenda, both setting specific targets to be achieved by 2030.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
The sailing community has a responsibility to protect the waters we sail on and to promote environmentally sustainable activities, products and practices.
Good competition happens when a variety and number of competitors are able to compete. We believe that those with fewer opportunities should be supported to fulfil their potential and to compete at the highest levels.
Sailing is for everyone, whatever their gender, capacity, wealth, age or nationality. We believe that sailing as a sport benefits when a diverse range of people are able to participate, and we know that the opportunity to sail benefits individuals too.
